London -- Pultruded Bayer MaterialScience polyurethane is being used in a new range of innovative composite pallets.
Pultruded PU changes the game for pallets

RM², a company which designs and makes the pallets says that it used Bayer's Baydur PUL2500 resin in its BlockPal pallet range.
The firm says that the Bayer material was chosen because it offers good elongation to failure characteristics, high impact resistance and good shear strength. These properties combine to help produce a pallet which is about 20x more durable than conventional wooden pallets.
Bayer provided technical and formulation support, said RM².
"Because our composite pallets are significantly more durable, we can provide significant economic benefits," said Naill Carson , business development at RM².
He hopes to change pallets from being "a consumable to an asset that can generate significant accretive product margin," said Carson.
The pallets are available in a range of sizes and pass the UL 2335 flammability test, said RM².
