Helsinki, Finland -- The REACH-EN-FORCE project, presented by the Forum for Exchange of Information on Enforcement, found "non-compliance" in 24 percent of the 1600 members inspected, a 1 June statement from the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) said.
Of these 1600, the Forum found:
• "No data, no provision" in 2.6 percent of members;
• Incorrect pre-registration in 5.6 percent of members;
• Required SDS unavailable in 11 percent of companies, and;
• SDS non-compliant with language and format requirements in 20 percent of members.
Forum members agreed to extend the inspection activities until spring 2011 to asses compliance with the first REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) deadline for registering of 30 Nov 2010.
