Grafenberg, Germany - RAMPF Giessharze has appointed Stefan Retig as head of research and development, the producer of PU and epoxy resins said in a 1 Mar press release.
Retig, who moves from his post as head of laboratory in the Foam Gaskets division, has taken over the role from Dr Peter Graeter.
The company said Retig will be focusing on expanding RAMPF's position in the polyurethane, silicone and epoxy markets.
"To keep us fit for the future, I am particularly concerned to leverage the full potential offered by alternative raw materials for our customers. Demand in this field is growing all the time," Retig said.
He added that he aimed "to increase the use of biopolyols made from natural oils, such as rapeseed and soya oil", while also researching other alternatives.
RAMPF has recently introduced casting compounds made using polyols from rapeseed oil into the market. LMH
