Grafenberg, Germany - Polyurethane systems and equipment supplier Rampf Group is planning to spend €7.7 million to build a new 6500 sq.m factory at the beginning of 2008. The development, at its headquarters at Grafenberg, has been approved by the local council, said the machinery and systems group, in a 28 Nov announcement.
The new plant, to be built directly next to the existing plant, will accommodate new production and warehousing facilities, technical development and training rooms, laboratories as well as offices.
RAMPF Holding, RAMPF Tooling and RAMPF Casting Resins will all benefit from this, said the company. Rampf also has a unit making recycled polyols from polyurethane process scrap for customers.
At present, about 150 employees work at Grafenberg. With the extension, the manufacturer of reactive resins and associated application technology will create a further 20 jobs.
"With the new premises it will be possible for us to interlink laboratory, production and selling functions even more closely. In this way, we will emphasise our philosophy to offer custom-made solutions to the customer. And we will finally have room to accommodate more trainees", stressed Michael Rampf, managing director of the RAMPF Group, in the announcement.
Ramp is also building at further sites: in Wangen near Göppingen, its subsidiary Epucret Mineral Casting Technology is extending its plant, while in January 2008, a factory for mineral casting will be opened in China.
Also, RAMPF Group Inc. in the US is currently setting up production for reaction-casting resins, "to be able to serve the North American market from Michigan more efficiently," the company said.
