Shwaebisch Hall, Germany – Recaro Aircraft Seating increased sales of economy class aircraft seats by 15% to 120,000 units in 2017. Sales reached EUR 487m.
Recaro Aircraft seats have record year in 2017

The company said that sales have grown on average by 10%/year for the past decade. This compares with an industry average of 5%.
Order books are full for the next three years, the company added. Recaro Aircraft Seating supplied 41 airlines in 2017 including eight new ones, the firm said. It has firm orders from 24 air lines for 2018. Mark Hiller, ceo and shareholder said: 'Our order books are looking good through 2020. We will be adjusting our growth rate upwards for the next few years.'
in 2017, Recaro Aircraft Seating also re-entered the market for business class seats. It introduced the CL6710 long-haul business class seat for Boeing 787 aeroplanes. These can be 'adapted to meet specific requirements for international customers,' Hiller said.
He added: 'Business class will be an important strategic focus. We are gaining momentum. The CL6710 is the lightest business class seat in the market.'
Production at Recaro Aircraft Seating Qingdao, China increased from 10,000 seat/year to 20,000 in 2017, the company said.
The firm also launched BL 3710 short- or medium-haul, economy seats, in April this year. The first customer has already received its first shipment , the company said.
