Kirchheim/Teck, Germany -- The new high-performance Ford Focus ST, built in Germany and the US and exported worldwide, has exclusive Recaro seats featuring bold contours, colour-matched stitching and a striking ST insignia on the backrest.
All Focus ST models sold in Europe are factory-equipped with Recaro seats with various features including adjustment options (manual or electric) and a comfort version with seat heating, according to Recaro Automotive Seating, now owned by Johnson Controls.
For the first time, the Ford Focus ST performance model (250 PS) will be available in 40 countries worldwide in a five-door hatchback or station-wagon version.
Teamwork between Ford and Recaro has a long tradition, with the car manufacturer relying on Recaro seat specialists in motorsports. Two factory teams are starting the current WRC (World Rally Championship) season in a Ford Fiesta RS equipped with a Recaro Pro Racer Ultima 1.0.
The new racing shell made by Recaro Automotive Seating is homologated in compliance with FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) specifications.
Recaro Automotive Seating has four locations in Germany, Japan and the US. The company says it designs, manufactures and markets complete seats using its core competence in design, ergonomics, craftsmanship, robustness, lightweight construction and high-class workmanship
The three units are: Recaro Car Seating, making passenger car seats for OEMs and the aftermarket; Recaro Commercial Vehicle Seating for commercial vehicle seats (OEM and aftermarket); and Recaro Engineering, which develops seats and seating parts.
"
