Recaro wins MAN Truck & Bus order
No commercial details of the contract was supplied. However, Adient said that from 2020 Recaro will be supplying commercial vehicle seats for the whole range of MAN models: TDL, TDM, TGS and TJX.
The driver and passenger seat order will be for approximately 100,000 original MAN vehicles/year. It will see production increase at its Polish facility to 300,000 seats/year. These were supplied to MAN facilities in Munich, Germany and Steyr, Austria.
David Herberg, Adient executive director commercial vehicle seating said: "Since the launch of our new generation of seats in 2008, we have been able to continually grow and expand our portfolio."
The seats will be used in MAN's light, mid-size and heavy trucks bringing them to a uniform standard, Adient said.
The seats were specifically developed for MAN, said Recaro. The seats will have a wide range of features such as heating and climate control. The passenger seats will also be supplied in different configurations from a fixed version to a turntable-mounted swivel variation, Recaro added.
