Nelson, UK - Recticel Ltd (UK) said it intends to streamline its flexible foams converting activities in the UK, resulting in the potential closure of its foam converting factory in Nelson before the end of the third quarter 2013.
The foamer said in a 15 April statement that it is considering integrating Nelson's activities into the conversion capabilities at its converting unit in Alfreton.
All 95 employees at the site have been put under risk of redundancy. Recticel said during the consultation period, it will work alongside employee representatives to find the most appropriate support measures, including job transfers to other Recticel UK flexible foams plants. Recticel currently employs 485 people in its flexible foams business in the UK.
