Brussels – Belgian polyurethane foam company Recticel, has announced a "breakthrough technology" in rigid polythene insulation boards.
The company which is keeping details close to its chest, said the technology can produce boards with a thermal conductivity of 0.019 W/mK. This is 13% better performance than existing products, Recticel added.
Called Xentro the product will soon be commercialised in cavity and floor applications, the firm said.
Recticel said this technology, “addresses the demands of energy-efficient buildings and is a significant breakthrough in the world of PU.”
The foam will be produced at the company's Wevelgem, Belgium site; and sold via builders’ merchants in Belgium. Eventually it will be rolled out to other countries, the firm said.
