Brussels - Recticel Automobilsysteme GmbH is to cut 150 jobs at its Rheinbreitbach, Germany, plant as its interior component production contract for the Mercedes C-class is due to end.
The fully owned subsidiary of the Recticel Group will restructure the Rheinbreitbach operations during 2014 to 2015, cutting 150 jobs from a total of 178, it said 22 Jan.
In Dec 2011, Recticel announced that its automotive interiors division had not been nominated for the production of interior components to the new Mercedes C-class. The production of the interior components for the current Mercedes C-class is due to end in 2015.
The company said discussions will start in the coming weeks to identify the most appropriate support measures for affected employees, including transfer to other Recticel Automotive plants.
