Houston, Texas – RectorSeal, which makes HVAC and plumbing products, has introduced a new fire blocking expanding polyurethane foam. Draft-Block Orange will be sold to trade professionals in North America.
The orange-coloured filler expands up to three times to fill, bond and insulate. The low pressure one-component product adheres to wood, glass, metal, tiles, concrete and most plastics. It also helps reduce sound transmission, the company said.
The foam is dielectric, and free from both formaldehyde and urea. It dries tack-free in about 5 minutes, can be cut within the hour, and cures fully in 12–24 hours. As well as sealing around building components such as windows and vents, it can be used to fill voids around plumbing and other utility penetrations to prevent draughts and pest intrusions.
