Vancouver, British Columbia – Redwood Plastics has merged with Epic Polymer Systems, and is now operating under the name Redwood Plastics and Rubber. The deal expands Redwood’s polyurethane offerings, and the combined business has seven facilities across North America.
Redwood said that its Redco-branded polyurethane is a tough and durable thermoset elastomeric material with a broad range of hardnesses that is governed by the prepolymer’s molecular structure rather than the addition of fillers or plasticisers. It is resistant to chemicals, impact and abrasion, and performs well across a wide temperature range.
Epic’s Vypur polyurethane and processing capabilities have been added to the portfolio. Vypur is also strong and durable, and can be cast or moulded into custom parts, or precision machined from stock shaped into specific configurations, said Redwood.
