Washington, DC – In February 2022, the US imported 869,000 refrigerators. This is down 11.8%: 116,200 units fewer than were imported in February 2021.

The year-to-date total number of refrigerators imported to the US is 1.9 m. This is a 19% fall compared with the same timeframe in 2020. So far in 2021, the US has imported 450,000 fewer units.

The largest source of imports to the US in February was China, which provided 729,000 refrigerators. Thailand supplied 41,000 units, and was the second largest source. Thailand was followed by Mexico, with 37,000 units originating from there.

In February 2021, the largest source of imports was again China, which generated 893,000 units. Thailand, with 29,000 units, was the second largest source. Mexico was the third largest exporter to the US, and accounted for 21,000 units.

Data comes from the US International Trade Commission, and there is a lag of a few weeks between the end of the month and publication.
