Saline, Michigan - Polyurethane moulder Renosol Corp. has expanded its Bay City, Michigan, operation by 15800 sq.ft (1468 sq.m), and reorganised and streamlined operations, introducing new processing capabilities at the same time.
This major revamp, overseen by Dennis Resseguie, plant manager, follows the exit of a co-tenant on the site, which allowed the company to re-configure manufacturing processes, buy production equipment, refurbish the property's exterior and offices, and more.
Renosol said in a 29 June statement that its equipment purchases have extended company's capacity and added flexibility.
Renosol moulds many different polyurethane products, each of which requires different foams, with discrete processing parameters. The company says it can now make a wider variety of PU products: these range from flexible foam to rigid foam (including honeycomb materials), integral skin products, energy absorbing foam, structural foam and high durometer and density dunnage foams.
In the expansion Renosol also added plastisol compounding capability in Bay City. The company has custom-formulated plastisol moulding compounds since its formation in 1981, and says it has unique colour-matching capabilities for critical automotive industry standards.
Resseguie utilised the broad range of talents of the Bay City team. Bay City's engineering expertise meant the team re-configured the manufacturing operations in addition to their normal manufacturing duties, which include refurbishing and building specialised production machinery from the floor up.
"Our production staff is as solid as they come. We don't have turnover problems, and we don't have quality issues at our customers' facilities," said Resseguie, in a 29 June company statement. " My technical team knows its business and has lots of experience in manufacturing. The engineering team is by far the most creative I have worked with. These guys can design a production line and then go out and build it."
Renosol was formed in 1981 from Hoover Universal's chemical specialities division and has a strong background in formulation and experience with processing challenges - capabilities which it says "dovetail well with specialty moulding of polyurethane."
Among Renosol's suite of PU options it offers materials and parts for noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) damping, energy absorption (EA), as well as flexible, rigid/structural, microcellular, elastomeric, integral skin and viscoelastic foams.
The group also custom formulates plastisol moulding and dipping compounds, material handling dunnage and racking systems, serving marine, automotive, industrial, packaging and sporting goods industries.
