Edmonton, Alberta-Resin Systems Inc. has completed its order for a major US utility's wind farm project in Texas, through its operating division, RS Technologies.
RStandard modules, made from polyurethane resin, have been assembled into transmission poles up to 26 metres high and installed by Rosendin Electric Inc.
RSI's technology saved Rosendin significant time and labour in the rough and unstable terrain," said an RSI statement.
Also, since the Rstandard poles are a modular design, this allowed Rosendin to change pole requirements midstream and still meet the project completion date, RSI said.
"Wind power is a rapidly growing industry and this order is an excellent example of our increasing domestic market acceptance within the North American electrical utility marketplace" commented Greg Pendura, chairman, president and chief executive officer of RSI.
The picture shows an RStandard utility pole, similar to the modular poles used in wind power, being prepared for installation.
