Geelen, the Netherlands -- Biosuccinium – sustainable succinic acid for the production of resin, coating, adhesive and sealant products – jointly developed by Reverdia, DSM and Roquette Freres, will be showcased at the American Coatings Show in Atlanta from 8 – 10 April.
It will be the company’s first appearance as exhibitor at the show and its focus will be on promoting Biosuccinium. This 100% bio-based succinic acid is a sustainable alternative to conventional raw materials such as fossil-based succinic acid, adipic acid or terephthalic acid, said the company.
It was also announced that an updated datasheet - Biosuccinium in Resins and Coatings - for the product will be available at the show.
President Marcel Lubben said: “As we move from a fossil-fuel-based economy to a more sustainable bio-based one, manufacturers are looking for alternative solutions. Biosuccinium provides a sustainable alternative to fossil-based raw materials used for resins, coatings, adhesives and sealants.”
Other innovations visitors will be able to explore at Reverdia’s stand include Dimethyl succinate, branded Provichem 2511 Eco provided by Proviron, Biosuccinium-based polyester polyols, plasticisers based on Biosuccinium, Quinacridone and DPP pigments.
