San Diego, California – Rhino Linings has partnered with Dow Polyurethanes to develop a chemical resistant coating. The company claims the HiChem 11-70 formulation delivers corrosion protection where high levels of chemical resistance are required, and is stable for immersion applications.
The protective lining is a two-component, 1:1 mix polyurethane product. It is 100% solids and contains no VOCs. The product can be applied using plural component spray equipment to concrete, fibreglass, plastic metal and wood. Applications include steel tanks, pipelines, reservoirs, aerators, digesters and concrete basins, said Rhino.
“The protective lining cures quickly, ensuring businesses experience little to no downtime and, in some cases, may return to service in less than 24 hours,” said Pierre Gagonon, Rhino’s president and chief executive officer.
The coating meets NSF Standard 61 requirements for potable water storage tanks larger than 5 gallons (19 l), and pipelines with a diameter of at least 0.75 inches (19 mm).
