San Diego, California - Rhino Linings Corp, a leading supplier of protective coatings for truck upfitters and commercial vehicles, has added a spray-applied hybrid polyurea elastomeric coating to its range of products.
Designated TuffGrip 11-90, the coating offers improved toughness, impact resistance and non-skid properties, the firm claims, adding that it is offered in both 1:1 and 2:1 mix ratio formulations.
These are 100-percent solids with no VOCs (volatile organic compounds), solvents or coal tars and provide an exothermic, rapid cure, according to a 22 Sep. statement from the firm. Applicators can vary the thickness from a minimum of 1/16" (62.5 mils/1.5mm) for non-load bearing or abrasion-resistant linings, up to unlimited thickness in a single coat multi-pass application.
When cured TuffGrip 11-90 has a hardness of 90 Shore A with 250-percent elongation and 1500psi (10.3 MPa) tensile strength, the Rhino Linings release added.
"TuffGrip 11-90, is Rhino's flagship product and its most versatile hybrid polyurea lining," commented John Henningsen, spokesperson for the company.
"This durable 1:1 hybrid polyurethane/polyurea formulation, together with our proven 2:1 mix ratio version of TuffGrip coating, expands the application possibilities. They introduce TuffGrip 11-90 to a much wide customer base of industrial & OEM applicators," added Pierre Gagnon, president and CEO of Rhino Linings
Although truck bed liners are the most popular application, TuffGrip 11-90 will permanently protect other parts of vehicles such as tanks, bumpers, grille guards, rocker panels, wheel wells, interior floors, cabinets, dashboards, running boards and luggage racks, Rhino Linings says, adding that the coating's versatility also makes it ideal for applications other than trucks, such as trailers, farm equipment, construction vehicles, and boat decks.
