Singapore -- Rim Polymers has developed a PU chemical transfer system for in-plant PU foaming factories with jv partner International Pump Manufacturing (IPM).
Rim Polymers executive vp Oei Han Tjing said the new IBC system for dispensing polyols will “bring major cost saving benefits in the long run by enabling operators to spend minimum effort in monitoring the tank.”
The plant also features chemical temperature control to reduce foam product rejects.
The design sees an IBC connected to IPM’s OP300S stubby transfer pump. This will ensure continuous liquid recirculation, which will regulate temperature.
A PLC controlled electrical panel will minimise chemical spillage, the firm said. It will also feature also an auto lifting cylinder, which minimises the changeover time of the stirrer, it added. An alarm system to alert the operator of low liquid level will also be an option.
