Huntington, West Virginia -- Rubberlite Inc. has formed a strategic relationship with Pitman, an Agfa Company, under which Pitman will be the exclusive distributor of the Rubberlite PUR -Mount and PUR-Mount GT cushioned mounting material in the US.
Rubberlite claims that PUR-Mount GT is an "environmentally friendly polyurethane foam product," that uses recycled materials, while maintaining high performance.
Rubberlite's self-contained technical composites group has the capability to provide many different and effective variations of lamination applications for PUR-Mount and other custom-engineered foams.
Peter Wilkens, president of Agfa Graphics commented in the Rubberlite announcement that "Our customers rely on us to provide advanced solutions that enable them to be more profitable and now, even more environmentally responsible."
The mounting materials are good choices for applications throughout the corrugated paper industry, according to Rubberlite. PUR-Mount GT has recycled tyres as an integral part of the open-cell polyurethane foam, and has strong compression set resistance, tight thickness tolerance control, and outstanding quality.
PUR-Mount cushioned mounting material is offered with PET or PVC film backing, as well as unsupported. Custom manufacturing and lamination is done in-house, in one location, which Rubberlite says allows it to offer "much shorter lead times than most in the industry as well as a stringent level of quality control."
Noting that Pitman is "a leader in their industry," Allen Mayo, president and ceo of Rubberlite, said, "they understand the advantages of our PUR -Mount product line and will be an excellent representative of our products."
Rubberlite's other products include HyPUR-cel, a medium- to high-density open-celled polyurethane foam. Offered in a wide range of thicknesses and densities, HyPUR-cel has excellent rebound and compression set resistance, says the company.
Visco-cel is a slow-recovery memory foam available in continuous rolls at 60" widths. New to the product line is the HyPUR-cel GT line which utilises recycled materials while continuing to provide outstanding performance across many standards.
The Technical Composite division has an array of lamination capabilities ranging from web to a specialised process utilising a solvent-free adhesive system.
Rubberlite commented that its processes "create permanent bonds between substrates, while maintaining the stretch, memory and comfort your customers require. "
