Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia -- Sadara confirmed its nameplate 400 kT/year polyols plant started production on 27 July.
The firm, which is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical said it has two polyol trains which use propylene oxide and ethylene oxide to produce multiple grades of polyether polyols.
CEO Ziad Al-Labban, said: ' The Polyols facility will enable manufacturers in Saudi Arabia to obtain the specialty chemicals needed for a broad spectrum of applications.'
This confirms news from unnamed sources reported 0n UTECH-polyurethane.com on 24 July that in line with production of MDI getting started, polyols production was getting underway.
