Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia – Sadara, the joint venture between Dow Chemical and Saudi Aramco, started production of polyethylene in December 2015 on schedule.
According to Dow “Sadara’s 26 manufacturing assets remain on schedule for a sequenced start up process, beginning with polyolefins, followed by ethylene oxide/propylene oxide and their derivatives.”
Sadara confirmed that key geographical markets will be the Middle East, Africa, India, Central and Eastern Europe for the polyolefins business.
UTECH-polyurethane.com reported in August that Sadara has signed an agreement with EA Juffali & Brothers, a Saudi-based systems house and distributor to supply MDI.
