Lexington, Kentucky — Tempur Sealy, a bed and mattress maker, generated sales of $821.0m in the third quarter of 2019. This is higher by 13% than the same period in 2018.
Sales up 13% at Tempur Sealy in Q3 2019
EBITDA across the business rose 34% and hit $151m the third quarter of 2019.
The company's North America business sales rose by 14% between the third quarter of 2018 and 2019. Sales growth in North America was driven by sales at Sleep Outfitters. The company bought Innovative Mattress Solutions in February. US sales increased by 89% because of this. Without the purchase sales would have grown by 37%. Wholesale sales were up 8%.
CEO Scott Thompson said: 'I am also pleased to report that we have hired over 600 new employees this year. We have invested tens of millions of dollars in property, plant, and equipment to drive future performance.'
