Warsaw — Sales at Ciech's flexible foam business, Pianki fell by 19% between the first nine months of 2018 and 2019. They were PLN 192m ($ 49.5m) in the first nine months of 2019. This compares with PLN 237m in the 2018 period.
The company is looking hard at its shape and structure as it tries to become a chemical holding company. The nine-month sales announcement confirmed it considering selling the Pianki business as part of its restructuring programme.
Across the company as a whole, sales were PLN 2.75bn in the first nine months of 2019. This is higher by 2% than the same period in 2018.
EBITDA across the business fell 17% and hit PLN 402m the first nine months of 2019.
