Burgdorf, Switzerland -- Sanitized has recently introduced an antibacterial and antifungal additive for use in the foam and PU coatings industry. The Swiss company said the material is also active against dust mites and is wash resistant.
The company, a producer of antimicrobial hygiene chemicals and material protection for textiles and plastics, is now focusing on direct commercialisation of its products for personal care, healthcare and medical devices, thanks to a successful partnership with the additives business unit of speciality chemicals producer Clariant of Muttenz, Switzerland.
By addressing all criteria in product development - including end use, antimicrobial effects, risk assessment, materials and processes, regulation, and communication and marketing -- Sanitized said it can now mutually contribute to developing products with OEMs.
Burgdorf, Switzerland-base Sanitized added that it is investing further in innovative products because of the introduction of new technologies in some applications. "We bring new versatile multi-functional effects to the applications of our customers through research," said Bruno Piastra, product manager polymer additives at Sanitized, in the company statement.
