Jiaxing, Zhejiang - Sanjiang Fine Chemicals is to start operation of its new EO/EG plant by the end of the first quarter of 2015 in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, the company said.
The plant has RMB1.3bn ($212m) investment earmarked with an annual capacity range between 240kT EO/ 130kT EG and 100kT EO/ 250kT EG.
This is the fifth and the last phase of the company's EO/EG project, with technology licensed from US project design packages provider Scientific Design for all the five phases.
Facilities in phases one to four are only able to produce industrial grade EG while the new plant is able to produce polyester grade EG with more advanced technology.
