Kettering, UK - Footwear and furniture research group SATRA has extended its services to include force testing and hardness measuring for the rubber and plastics sectors. The UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) accredited research and technology group can now carry out calibration of class 1, 2 and 3 static uniaxial, screw-driven force testing machines in tension and compression between 10N and 30KN.
SATRA said it can also calibrate indentometers used to characterise flexible foams and durometers used to measure hardness in polymers, elastomers and rubbers and other non-metal materials - to UKAS standards.
"Accreditation by UKAS demonstrates competence, impartiality and performance capability of service," the group said in its 14 Oct announcement.
SATRA provides a comprehensive on-site service and employs highly qualified and experienced engineers to provide for customer's calibration needs world-wide.
The group also supplies a wide range of test equipment, including force-testing machines, durometers and indentometers, and is a leading supplier of rubber and plastics test instruments to the global polymer industry.
SATRA's range is designed to be accurate, repeatable and reliable and complies with the requirements of various ISO, DIN, ASTM and other national, international and industry test standards.
