Baar, Switzerland-Sika Group posted net sales in 2006 of CHF 3900 million ($3100 million). The sealant and adhesive supplier's net sales were 33.5 percent higher than the previous year.
Organic growth accounted for 16.8 percent, said Sika, while acquisitions (mainly Sarnafil) were responsible for 15.0 percent of the growth, with favourable currency effects contributing 1.7 percent.
Baar-headquartered Sika said the acquisition effects "benefited the Construction Division exclusively."
Meanwhile, all regions saw "solid, two-digit growth' in sales, the group added, with the sharpest rises in eastern Europe, Latin America, South-east Asia and Australia/New Zealand.
Sika pointed out that organic growth in its construction unit benefitted from a more positive market, and from the mild fourth quarter weather in 2006.
But the group warned that similar growth rates are unlikely in 2007.
Sika said its mid-term financial goals stay at 8 - 10 percent organic growth a year. "
