Siegburg, Germany - Sikoplast Anlagenbau GmbH & Co. KG, a supplier of recycling lines for plastics, including thermoplastic polyurethanes, has appointed Jörg Buf as managing director. He replaces the owner and previous managing Fritz Bufe, who wants to focus on further development of innovative recycling lines, and will also manage Sikoplast's establishment in Budapest, Hungary, said a 13 May statement from the company.
Jörg Bufe has many years' experience in sales, marketing and service in Sikoplast, as a background to his new responsibilities. Over the last few years, the maker of recycling extruders has seen "constantly growing sales figures, in particular in the international field," said Sikoplast.
Sikoplast's original recycling extruder features a conical feed-zone design and a single screw, which still forms the basic of present-day lines. The company claims its process offers high-quality TPU recycling, pelletising the material without damaging its structure.
The group says TPU users can reach a 30 percent use of reclaim in their products, with no deterioriation in properties. This illustrates "the benefits of our extruder concept," which allows material feeding with no "material-damaging pre-densification units or cutter compactors," Sikoplast claims.
