Guangzhou, Guangdong – Guangzhou Silok Polymer, a maker of polyurethane resin, additives and modified pre-polymers, showcased its 20 low VOC, low odour surfactants launched earlier this year at the PU China 2017 event.
‘We’ve been in this area since 2004 but just added such products to our portfolio due to our clients’ increasing demands,’ the company’s product manager Peter Liu told UTECH-polyurethane.com in an exclusive interview. ‘The conventional products is a saturated market.’
Last year Silok upped its revenue by 70% to over CNY 100m ($15.3m). The company has been building a second site in the Ningxiang Industrial Park in Changsha, Hunan since the beginning of this year, and expects it to come on stream in October. ‘We’ll be shifting our production to the new site,’ said Liu.
Rising feedstock price has put some pressure on the company, added Liu. ‘We used to adjust our product price every half year but now we change that for each order based on feedstock price.’
