By David Reed, UT EditorSingapore-Armstrong Technology Corporation Ltd, a Singapore-based manufacturer of polyurethane foam and rubber components, wants to expand its presence in the automotive sector by adding the manufacture of NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) parts to its portfolio, according to a 6 Dec statement. The firm says it is seeking to establish strategic partnerships with either European or Chinese companies involved in the NVH sector, and is already engaged in talks with several European carmakers and other related companies. It would also consider forming joint ventures with technology suppliers, according to Ooi Hoay Beng, director of business development China."This would allow Armstrong to effectively leverage its low production costs, international experience, and current customer base to our potential partner's benefit. We could quickly bring new products to market and manufacture them locally in China," Ooi added.Established in 1974, Armstrong Technology says it is a leading precision engineering specialist making and supplying PU foam and rubber mechanical components for insulation, dampening, cushioning, sealing and related applications. It produces high-performance precision die-cut parts, rubber mouldings, metal stampings, vacuum and heat press moulded components for makers of diverse end products. Armstrong runs 16 factories across Singapore, Thailand, China, Malaysia and Indonesia. Armstrong has maintained a manufacturing presence in China since 1996."
