Chongqing, China - Reports from China say that Sinopec Sichuan Vinylon Works Group and Korea's SK Chemicals Co. Ltd signed a joint venture contract 25 Feb in Chongqing in south-west China to build a 200-kiltonnes per annum butanediol (BDO) facility.
Xinhua news agency reported that the project includes plants for acetylene, formaldehyde and BDO, and will cost Yuan 3.8 billion yuan ($605 million).
The BDO plant in the Changshou Economic-Technological Development Area, will be built by the end of 2015.
