Manhattan Beach, California — First quarter 2018 sales at Skechers were $1.25 bn; up 16.5% on Q1 2017 which itself broke records at the company.
Skechers has record-breaking quarter, again
The company saw considerable rises of 17.9% in its international wholesale business and 26.4% in its own global retail businesses. Its domestic wholesale net sales in the US were up 8.6% compared to the first quarter of 2017.
Skechers international business, including retail, grew to 54% of total sales in the 2018 quarter. This compares with 51.3% of total sales in the first-quarter of 2017.
Looking ahead to the second quarter, the company said it is likely to have sales of between $1.12 bn and $1.14 bn.
Robert Greenberg, Skechers ceo said: 'What a way to start 2018. We truly felt that 2017 was a banner year, but again we surpassed our expectations and hit a new quarterly sales record. Our moment is now.'
