West Long Branch, New Jersey - Bedding product maker Sleep Innovations Inc. and its various units filed 3 Oct for reorganisation under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code in a Delaware court.
The units involved include Comfort Co. Inc., three Advanced Innovations units (Central, East, and West), and Advanced Urethane Technologies Inc., including AUT units in Brenham, Dallas, Lebanon, Newburyport, and West Chicago.
Sleep Innovations, which makes memory foam pillows and mattress toppers, commented on a Chapter 11 reorganisation site that the filings "are expected to have no impact on production facilities or delivery schedules." Suppliers should expect to be paid for post-petition purchases of goods and services in the ordinary course of business, the company added.
Also, the move will make no difference to employee work schedules, pay or benefits, Sleep Innovations said.
"Sleep Innovations and Advanced Urethane Technologies will continue normal operations through its restructuring and expect no changes to manufacturing or delivery schedules," said the group, adding that "Orders are being processed as usual and existing orders will be delivered on schedule."
With a secure financial foundation, the companies expect to be able to serve customers better and have the resources to enhance operations including increasing manufacturing efficiency and streamlining new product development.
