By Liz White, UT contributing editorWarrington, UK-Solvay Caprolactones has a new caprolactone product on the market, CAPA 7203, which it says is designed for use in special elastomer applications.Made using Solyay's propriety technology, the CAPA 7203 material is a block caproloactone polycarbonate copolymer. As well as having the excellent hydrolysis resistance of both caprolactone and polycarbonate, the product benefits from "much lower viscosity and reactivity than polycarbonate alone," said the Solvay unit, based at Warrington, Cheshire. CAPA 7203 is intended for use in demanding urethane applications where superior hydrolysis resistance and high-temperature properties are required, according to a Solvay release on the new polyol. "
