Solvay Caprolactones is increasing the prices for all its CAPA caprolactone products from 10 July 2006 by Euro 160/tonne, or the local equivalent, where contracts and commitments allow.
Factors driving the price change are rapidly escalating raw material costs along with higher supply chain costs incurred by Solvay Caprolactones, said the Belgian group.
Solvay Caprolactones is a member of the the Solvay Chemicals sector of Solvay SA, a Belgian pharmaceuticals and chemical company.
On 10 April this year, Solvay Caprolactones raised CAPA prices by Euro100/tonne. Solvay says its CAPA polyols are "used extensively" as the soft segment in making a variety of speciality polyurethanes. Uses include solvent-based TPU adhesives, water-based dispersions and reactive hot-melt adhesives, as well as automotive paints, footwear and medical applications, the group's website says. "
