Kentucky, US – Somnigroup has appointed Steve Rusing as president of Mattress Firm. He will report to Scott Thompson, Somnigroup’s CEO, who had been filling in as interim CEO as Mattress Firm after the long-running acquisition closed in February. Mattress Firm’s executive leadership team will report to Rusing.
Rusing has been with Tempur Sealy for three decades, and for the past five years has been the company’s president of US sales. He will be based at Mattress Firm’s office in Houston, Texas.
“Steve is one of the most experienced and well-respected executives in the bedding industry, and I am excited that he will lead the talented team at Mattress Firm as it begins a new chapter within the Somnigroup portfolio,” Thompson said. “He played an instrumental role in shaping the evolution of Tempur Sealy’s omnichannel strategy, ensuring the success of every distribution channel and minimising channel conflict.”
