Barnsley, United Kingdom – Machinery maker CTM has unveiled its latest elastomer metering machinery aimed at the offshore oil and gas industry.
Specialised offshore elastomer metering unit from CTM
The machines now feature a "centralised intelligent network control" - a system that manages and controls all aspects of the process from raw materials preheating, blending, batch identification, loading and degassing, stock control and materials batch traceability, said the firm.
"All process systems are networked and managed either locally or remotely by HQ where tool filling programs can be loaded and simulated in‘virtual mode prior to actual tool filling," it added.
According to CTM, the machine offers a “fully variable tool filling rate change system from minimum to maximum output whilst maintaining mixing ratio so as to minimise air inclusion with optimum tool filling times."
All process parameters are captured and exported back to HQ, said CTM.
The machine includes two magnetically-driven precision metering pumps from German company Kracht. It's flow meters were sourced from UK firm Endress & Hauser, which is based in Manchester.
