Virginia, US – The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) has announced this year’s winners of its National Industry Excellence Awards. The awards, sponsored by Arkema and Evonik, were presented at the recent SprayFoam Convention & Expo in Daytona, Florida.
This is the 19th time the awards have been made. There are eight categories, covering different SPF application types and project sizes, with both the contractor and the material supplier being recognised.
Two categories cover building enclosures. The winner for a project greater than 40,000ft2 was Enviro Home and Huntsman for a 5100GW hydroelectric dam, with Purefoam Roofing & Insulation and UPC the runners-up for the Buffalo Trace bourbon warehouse.
Polyseal Insulation and Huntsman won in the smaller project category for an installation at a long-range radar station. Runners-up were United Thermal Systems and Enverge for a skylight thermal encapsulation project at the Buffalo Fine Arts Academy.
The roof project categories are similarly split into more than and less than 40,000ft2. The large project was won by Brazos Urethane and Green Shield Products for their work at the New Orleans Convention Center. Strong Contractors and Gaco were runners up for a roofing project at South Park Elementary School in the Pueblo school district in Colorado, pictured above.

The specialty applications category was won by Anchor Insulation and Creative Polymer Solutions, Accufoam for the Sporting Shoppe at the Preserve, with Spray-Tec and Gaco runners-up for their Harrison Harvesting cooler insulation project. The elastomeric roof coatings award went to United Thermal Systems and Gaco for a lake water pump station project in the Town of Webster, while Solid Rock Commercial Roofing and Everest were runners-up for a project at Sharpline Converting.
