Fairfax, Virginia – The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance has announced the winners of its 14th annual industry excellence awards. The presentations were made at SPFA’s recent convention and expo in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The awards, in six categories, encompass the breadth of SPF applications, including insulation, roofing and specialty applications, as well as coatings projects.
Wedge Roofing and supplier Everest Systems won in the category for SPF roof over 40,000 sq ft for Birkenstock USA’s headquarters in Novato, California. The runners up were Central Coating Company with Carlisle Roof Foam & Coatings for the Rodney Strong Vineyards roofing and solar project in Healdsburg, California.
In the category for SPF roof under 40,000 sq ft, the winner was West Roofing Systems and supplier Accella for John Muir Elementary in Parma, OH. Cool-Roof Systems, and supplier National Coatings, was the runner-up for The Plunge at Belmont Park in San Diego, CA.
Purefoam Roofing & Insulation, with supplier NCFI, won the commercial wall foam award for the Central Lab Phase 7 in Frankfort, Kentucky. Houlden Contractors, with supplier Icynene-Lapolla, was the runner-up for its own western division headquarters building in Chass County, Nebraska.
The residential wall foam award went to Coastal Insulation, with supplier Icynene-Lapolla, for the Upper West Side NYC Condominiums in New York, NY. Fencil Urethane Systems and supplier SWD Urethane was runner-up for Eagle’s Bluff in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
In the specialty applications category, Sta-Aess-Res dba Foam Shielding Technologies and supplier NCFI won for Gamma Guard radiation shielding polyurethane foam and tank waste radiation shielding and macro-encapsulation in Richland, Washington. The runner up in this category were Elite Insulation & PolyPro with supplier Icynene-Lapolla, for Interstate 81 Reed Creek and Wythe County bridges in Virginia.
Finally, the elastomeric roof coatings award went to Roof Asset Management and its supplier National Coatings for the Lucix Corporation Facility in Camarillo, California. West Roofing Systems, along with supplier Henry, were the runners-up, for MK Asset Management in Norcross, Georgia, Des Plaines, Illinois and Round Lake Beach, also Illinois.
‘We are incredibly proud of all of our participating contractor members and these innovative projects completed throughout 2018,’ said Tiffiny Flaim, president of the SPFA. ‘Projects like these prove the energy efficiency, durability, variety of use, and performance capabilities of spray foam and remind us why we are all so passionate about SPF.’
