Galle, Sri Lanka – Nomadic Resorts, an architectural practice, is looking for a polyurethane spray foam firm to insulate a number of its living/sleeping units at resorts in the tropics.
Spray foam wanted in paradise
The pods are constructed using a polyvinylidene difluoride (PVdF) membrane over a metal frame, Nomadic spokesman,Freddie Catlow, said. He added that his firm is looking for insulation that will conform to the interior of the structures. The interior of the tents that will need foam application is around 90m².
Catlow added: “The climate on site is tropical, with very high humidity and daily temperatures around 30ºC.”
He continued: “There is a monsoon season and strong winds blow off the ocean, carrying spray and sand. The product will have to remain off the menu for the insects too.”
