Waalwijk, Netherlands – Calhoun, Georgia-based polyurethane and chemicals producer Eagle Performance Products has been acquired by Dutch-headquartered Stahl.
Eagle’s portfolio includes the Eaglethane range of polyurethane foams, as well as flame retardant technology.
Until now, Eagle has been firmly focused on the North American market, with only occasional forays outside the Nafta region. The acquisition will widen the horizons for its products.
According to Stahl, the two companies have been collaborating for many years. “As the synergy advantages are numerous, we have decided the time was right to combine our forces,” Stahl chief executive Huub van Beijeren said.
“With the acquisition, we will expand our product coverage, innovation power and sustainability expertise in the field of flame retardant technology. This enables us to respond even better to our clients’ needs.”
“Stahl offers us the opportunity to grow beyond North America,” said Eagle chief executive John Friddle. “In my new global role as business manager for Eagle flame retardants at Stahl, I am excited at the opportunity to elevate Eagle to the next level.”
