Ingolstadt, Germany - Plastics materials expert Rampf Group has developed a polyurethane resin for the European standard plug for recharging electric cars, made for the Mennekes company.
At the annual exhibition, "Innovative suppliers 2010" in Ingolstadt, 23 June 2010, RAMPF Group companies, RAMPF Giessharze and RAMPF Tooling of Grafenberg, Germany, focussed on sustainable concepts for the automotive industry.
"The symposium is more than just a discussion forum. It offers us the opportunity to present sustainable solutions based on polyurethanes, epoxies and silicones," said Dr Frank Birkelbach, international sales manager at RAMPF Giessharze, in a company statement.
As well as the plug for charging electric cars, made with polyurethane casting resin, other exhibits such as brake lights and door modules show various uses of the company's RAKU-PUR materials in secure sealing, foaming, bonding, casting and shaping.
Rampf notes that it also offers a comprehensive large contract manufacturing service. "If the customer needs more, we also offer material and equipment from a single source. We then work together with our sister company RAMPF Dosiertechnik located in Zimmern, which specialiaes in low-pressure two-component mixing systems", explains Birkelbach.
