Raleigh, North Carolina - Stanton Homes, a North Carolina-based house building company, has committed 100 percent to building greener, energy saving, Energy Star-qualified homes, the company said 18 June.
Among the "green" technologies used in Stanton's homes, the company is using the Bayseal polyurethane foam insulation system from Bayer MaterialScience subsidiary, BaySystems.
An Energy Star home has advanced air sealing, tight ducts, advanced windows, extra efficient HVAC (heating, ventilation and airconditioning) equipment, efficient insulation installation, and a complete air barrier, the statement said. All these aspects are field verified by third party agencies like award winning Southern Energy Management, Stanton added. (RD)
