Warsaw, Poland – Ciech's strategy in polyurethane until the end of 2021 is to retain its position in the Polish and European markets through Pianki.
By 2024, Ciech plans to become a modern diversified European chemical group, according to its Strategy 2021 document. This is a roadmap to the future and covers all of its product groups.
Ciech is a diversified chemicals company with interests in soda ash, chlorine chemistry, resins and flexible polyurethane foam. Its foam business is operated by Pianki, in Bydgoszcz in the north of the country. Pianki sits in Ciech's organic business segment. This has typical annual sales of PLN 879m ($232 m), and EBITDA of PLN 90m.
In the document, Ciech said that Pianki is in second market position in Poland and it plans to retain this status. The foamer will maximise production capacity and manage margins effectively, according to the presentation.
The company continues that it plans to continue investments in specialist segments. In the longer term will focus its specialised businesses on segments offering rapid organic growth.
