By Liz White, UT staffNorthfield, Illinois- From 1 Jan 2006, or as contracts allow, Stepan Co. is putting up prices for its Stepanfoam polyurethane systems, as follows:• $0.08 per pound for water blown foams• $0.10 per pound for hydrocarbon blown foams• $0.10 per pound for RM series products• $0.14 per pound for HFC blown foams"These increases are in response to the continued pressure on raw material feed stocks and energy in the wake of recent North American events," said Brad Beauchamp, business manager for Polyurethane Systems, in a 30 Dec statement from Stepan. "While we remain sensitive to our customers, the underlying costs associated with creation of polyurethane resins and isocyanates necessitated this action," the Stepan executive added. "
