West Virginia, US – Stockmeier Urethanes USA is sponsoring an event in support of West Virginia’s K9 Search & Rescue team. Stockmeier’s sponsorship of the organisation’s fourth annual Get Lost seminar in Ripley will help fund both the event and future training opportunities for search-and-rescue teams.
K9 Search & Rescue Services of WV is a non-profit that trains highly skilled dogs and their handlers. The teams work alongside emergency services and law enforcement agencies to locate missing persons. Kayla Tossone, a QC lab analyst at Stockmeier is actively involved in the organisation, along with her search-and-rescue dog Mercy.
The seminar is a three-day immersive training event that gives the teams the opportunity to train in advanced search techniques under expert instructors from across the country. They also get an insight into real-world scenarios.
Disciplines involved in the training include air scent, trailing and tracking in both wilderness and urban environments. Also included is training in the detection of human remains.
