Wiltshire, United Kingdom -- Kingspan’s TEK Building System is being used to insulate a new Stonehenge visitor centre including two self-contained pods and a ticket-booth.
Comprised of structural insulated panels, the system can achieve whole wall U-values of 0.21W/ m2K and better, according to Kingspan.
In addition, nearly 800m2 of Kingspan Insulation’s Thermataper TT47 LPC/FM was installed for roofing.
Angela Dapper, project associate at Denton Corker Marshall, said the system allowed for minimum wall thickness while still achieving excellent thermal performance.”
Kingspan’ proprietary jointing system ensures minimal air loss, with potential for air leakage levels as good as 1m3/hour/m2 at 50 Pa, according to the company.
