Minnesota, US – Stratasys is bringing its TrueDent-D resin to the European market. The urethane acrylate-based material for 3D printing dentures has now been granted a CE mark, allowing it to be sold in countries where the label is required.
The monolithic multi-shade resin has been available in the US since 2023. The company said more than 30 customers are already committed to beginning to use it in the first quarter.
TrueDent enables a fully digital workflow, allowing dental labs to create customised dentures more efficiently. Stratasys estimates that the total cost of production of a TrueDent denture is less than half of one made by traditional manufacturing methods.
A single J5 DentaJet printer can make more than 30 monolithic, multi-shade dentures per print job, the company said. It is also simple to print a duplicate denture as a spare, with a single click. The unattended, streamlined digital workflow can eliminate at least 27 manual touchpoints per print and reduces patients’ time in the dentist’s chair, it said.
“The TrueDent solution has transformed our denture business,” said Tra’ Chambers, owner of Express Dental Laboratories in the US. “The streamlined digital workflow and precision allows us to produce up to 225 dental appliances per day while delivering high fidelity, highly aesthetic appliances to our customers. [It] has elevated the level of care we can provide, saving time and costs for both clinicians and patients.”
