Koch: Likes commercial roofing this quarter
'Continued strength in US commercial roofing demand [drove the business along],' the company said. It purchased Accella, which makes polyurethane and PIR insulated panels, in 2018. Operating income benefited from higher prices and volume, along with savings in raw materials costs.
'We continue to be encouraged by the underlying demand, backlog, and re-roofing momentum in the north American non-residential roofing markets,' said CEO Chris Koch.
Sales across the whole company were $1.281 bn in the third quarter of 2019. This is 8.4% higher than the same period in 2018. Operating income grew by 8%, and earnings were $140m in the third quarter.
